Nephrologist (Assistente Hospitalar)
Nephrology Department, Unidade Local de Saúde de Santo António, Porto,
Portugal. Clinical nephrology with a focus on glomerular and complex kidney disease; dialysis
(haemodialysis and peritoneal) and kidney transplantation. Part of the practice runs within the
Centro de Responsabilidade Integrada (CRI) for Dialysis, an autonomous management unit operating
under internal contract.

Invited Assistant Professor and Researcher
ICBAS — School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and UMIB — Unit for
Multidisciplinary Research in Biomedicine, University of Porto. Teaching at ICBAS since 2024.

ULS Santo António: responsible for the training pathway and scientific output of
nephrology residents.

ULS Santo António: nephrology residents, general-year interns and residents from
other specialties, across the ward, outpatient clinic, dialysis techniques and kidney biopsy. Also trains
nurses and technicians in dialysis techniques.

recruitment, informed consent, biological sample collection and storage, longitudinal data collection and safety oversight; omics
analyses with national and international reference laboratories; ethics committee, GDPR and biospecimen
governance compliance.

patients with rare kidney disease, standardised data capture registries, clinical phenotyping and case
